Mohammed Siraj Ruled Out of Ireland & England T20Is; Prasidh Krishna Replaces Him

India’s pace unit for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England has seen a late alteration after Mohammed Siraj was withdrawn due to workload management. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated that the fast bowler has been advised rest following discussions between the medical staff and team management, with the aim of keeping him fresh for a busy international schedule ahead.

Siraj had initially been included in India’s T20I squad for the two-match series in Ireland and the five-match tour of England. However, selectors have now named Prasidh Krishna as his replacement across both assignments. The Karnataka pacer makes his return to the T20I setup after spending recent months on the fringes of India’s white-ball plans.

Renowned for his steep bounce and consistent hard lengths, Prasidh will look to make an impact in a reshaped Indian pace attack.

Mohammed Siraj Rested; Prasidh Krishna Named in India T20I Squad

The change comes shortly after India announced a revamped T20I squad for the Ireland and England tour under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. The team also includes teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, whose selection has drawn attention following a standout IPL 2026 season.

The upcoming series are seen as a key step in refining India’s T20 strategy, with several players being given a chance to strengthen their case in the national setup. For Mohammed Siraj, the decision to rest him is understood to be precautionary rather than injury-driven.

The Hyderabad pacer has been a consistent performer for India across formats and continues to be part of their long-term plans. In his absence, Prasidh Krishna will be keen to grab the opportunity and boost his international credentials when India begin their white-ball tour later this month.

With fixtures against Ireland followed by a demanding five-match series in England, the replacement is expected to be closely monitored throughout the tour.

India’s updated squad for Ireland and England T20Is:

Shreyas Iyer (C), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (WK), Ishan Kishan (WK), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma (VC), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Prasidh Krishna
