Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 57 runs to qualify for yet another final in the IPL. Delhi Capitals will now face the winner of RCB vs SRH in the Eliminator in the second qualifier on November 8. Before that the Eliminator will be played in Abu Dhabi on November 6. Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to field first, a decision that might cost them a place in the IPL 2020 final. MI got off to a brilliant start courtesy of Quinton De Kock (40 off 25). Meanwhile in this match both Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollardnwas out for ducks. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan plundered the Delhi bowlers in the final overs. The duo scored 90-odd from the final five overs. MI were 101 for 4 at the start of the 13th over at one stage. They ultimately ended on 200 with Kishan getting to his fourth fifty this season and Hardik staying unbeaten on 37 from just 14.

Mumbai Indians Advance to Fifth IPL Final
Delhi were Boult-ed in the chase early. They lost Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane in the very first over. This pegged them back hard in the chase and Jasprit Bumrah dismissing Shikhar Dhawan for a duck in his very first over, meant that Delhi was playing catch up in the chase. C skipper Shreyas Iyer was out for just 11. Marcus Stoinis (65) and Axar Patel (42) got runs in the middle-order but that was not enough to see them home. Bumrah bowled his best figures in the IPL of 4 for 13. He now has 27 wickets in IPL 2020, the most by an Indian bowler in a single IPL season. Ultimately Delhi ended on 143 for 8 as Mumbai capped off another dominating performance. They now head straight to the finals and await the winner of Qualifier 2.
What Was the Turning Point in The Game?
Mumbai finishing strongly on 200 and then taking four wickets inside the powerplay proved to be the turning point in the game. Once they did that, Delhi were never in the game.
Jasprit Bumrah for his match-winning spell of 4 for 13 was chosen as the man of the match.
“I am always ready when the captain wants me to bowl. I don’t focus on the end result. When I have done that it’s always gone downhill. I have a great camaraderie with Boult. We discuss fields, situations, so there’s a lot to learn from him. Batsmen have been taking all the awards, so it’s good to get it as a bowler (laughs). Ah no, I don’t worry about awards. As long as the team is winning I am happy” said the MI spearhead.
