The 2nd edition of the ongoing edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) saw an unusual celebration when Lahore Qalandar’s Haris Rauf got Multan Sultan’s Shahid Afridi out. Rauf, who apologised on the field for dismissing veteran Afridi, has explained the reason for the same.
Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandar and Multan Sultan locked horns in the semifinal clash of PSL 2020. The incident occurred in the 14th over when Lahore were gradually coming back into the match with quick wickets. With Rilee Rossouw departing in the fourth ball of that over, Multan Sultans were in deep trouble in their run chase of 183.
Haris Rauf apologises Shahid Afridi
Shahid Afridi was the key man in the chase; however, Haris Rauf stunned him with a brilliant yorker first-up. The yorker went between the veteran all-rounder’s legs to unsettle the timber as Rauf soon after joined hands to apologize.

Speaking to the commentator at the end of the game, Haris Rauf opened up on why he folded his hands in front of Shahid Afridi after dismissing him. The fast bowler said Afridi is one of the senior players and prodigy in Pakistan cricket, he wanted to do it as a sign of respect if he gets his wicket.
“Since he is a senior player, I had in my mind I will do this style if I get his wicket,” Rauf Haris, who returned with three wickets.

Speaking about the game, Lahore Qalandars raced to 182 on the back of David Wiese’s unbeaten 48-run knock. He came back to shine with the ball after regular bowlers went for plenty. He finished with figures of three for 27 to restrict Multan Sultans for 157 and setting up the final against Karachi Kings.
