Former Sri Lanka player Nuwan Zoysa has been found guilty of three offences under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The former Sri Lanka bowler has been sentenced by ICC following a hearing by an independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal.
Zoysa was charged under the ICC Anti-Corruption in November 2008 and has now been identified chargeable on all charges after he applied his right to a hearing before a tribunal. Zoysa persists suspended and further sanctions are expected to follow in due courses.
Here are the 3 charges that ICC has found Nuwan Zoysa guilty of:
Article 2.1.1 – for being party to an agreement or effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or another aspect (s) of a match.
Article 2.1.4 – Directly or indirectly soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging or intentionally facilitating any Participant to breach Code Article 2.1.
Article 2.4.4 – Failing to disclose to the ACU full details of any approaches or invitations received to engage in corrupt conduct under the Code.
The International cricket council updated everyone about Zoysa being charged by them on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) with breaching four counts of the ECB Anti-Corruption Code for Participants for the T10 League and these proceedings are ongoing.

Meanwhile, Nuwan Zoysa was a regular feature in the Sri Lankan ODI and Test squad in the early 2000s. The fast bowler represented his country in 30 Tests and 95 ODI matches respectively. Zoysa was extremely productive in his international career and picked 64 Test and 108 ODI wickets. His bowling partnership with Chaminda Vaas helped Sri Lanka win several matches in the 2000s.
He retired from international cricket in 2007 but continued playing domestic cricket till 2011. Overall, Nuwan Zoysa played 118 First Class, 187 List A and 17 T20 matches and picked 301, 242 and 21 wickets sequentially across formats.
