Australia all-rounder Moises Henriques has questioned whether Yuzvendra Chahal, who came as a concussion substitute in the first T20I, was a like-for-like replacement of Ravindra Jadeja. Although India secured a fine victory, the concussion substitute remained the topic of discussion in Canberra.
Incidentally, Ravindra Jadeja during his batting was hit on the helmet and was hampered by his hamstring as well. The referee, thanks to the blow on to the helmet, allowed the concussion sub in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal. Head coach Justin Langer looked miffed and had words exchanged with David Boon, the match referee about the incident.
Chahal was not a like-for-like replacement – Moises Henriques
While skipper Aaron Finch looked miffed with the proceedings, all-rounder Moises Henriques state that they had no issues with the concussion substitute. However, the only concern remains whether Chahal, who grabbed the man of the match for his three-wicket spell, was a like-for-like replacement.
‘From our point as a player you’ve just got to roll and get on with it. Once a decision has been made you just move forward and do what you can to win the fixture. When you’ve got professionals in place to make those decisions, and there’s no doubt he got a knock on the helmet, so from my point of view I do like to try and see the best in everyone.

But having said that, whether it was a like-for-like replacement, that’s the only thing moving forward, that’s the question we’d like to see.”Moises Henriques was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
Meanwhile, with things done and dusted, Australia would love to leave behind this episode and move forward as they look to break India’s winning run in the shortest format. The caravan once again moves to Sydney where India and Australia play the next two T20Is on December 6 (Sunday) and 8 (Tuesday).
