Hardik Pandya was virtually unstoppable in the ODI and T20I series against Australia. After his heroics in white-ball cricket, Shane Warne holds that Indian fans should sign a petition to include him in the Test squad. The star Indian all-rounder hasn’t been picked for the Test series against Australia.
Since making his comeback after recovering from his injury team India management has tried to manage the workload of Pandya. The 27-year-old is still only playing as a specialist batsman and is remodelling his bowling action so that it puts less pressure on his lower back.
Test Cricket Needs Superstars Like Hardik Pandya – Shane Warne
Former legendary spinner Shane Warne time and time again praised Pandya during the ODIs and T20Is. While doing commentary Warne has always maintained that Pandya is ‘Box office’ and currently one of his most favourite cricketers. The former cricketer on Twitter again admitted that Hardik Pandya should surely be in India’s Test squad.
“They should !!!!! @hardikpandya7 should be in India’s test team. He has the unique ability to energise his teammates and lift all the team around his vibe. Cricket needs characters and superstars like him! Fact,” Shane Warne said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya was named the man of the series in the T20I series for his outstanding batting display. Pandya smashed 78 runs in three games which came at a terrific strike rate of 156. The all-rounder will now return to India and spend more with his family and focus on his fitness before he plays Test cricket again.
Yesterday after the conclusion of 3rd T20I, Indian captain Virat Kohli maintained that Pandya has to bowl to provide balance to the Test squad.
“Hardik has been outstanding, we have found someone who can finish the games for us but Test cricket is a different challenge. We need him to bowl to provide balance to the (Test) team. If you have seen (Test series) in South Africa and England, his bowling gave the team that balance. He will be available for Tests only as a pure all-rounder”, said Kohli.
