Virat Kohli just keeps scoring runs against Australia especially in their backyard. The Indian captain has now become second India after Sachin Tendulkar to score 3000 runs across all formats in Australia. For an Asian batsman, Australia is considered the hardest place to score runs but Kohli has mastered the art of scoring runs down under.

Whether it be Tests, ODI or T20Is Kohli has dominated Australia away from home. The master batsman has now joined an elite list of batsmen scoring over 3000 runs in Australia. The 32-year-old so far has notched up 1274 runs in Tests, 1327 in ODIs, and 451 in T20Is respectively. Kohli has scored 3052 runs which makes him second India to achieve this rare feat.

Overall Kohli has become only the sixth overseas batsman to cross 3000 runs in international cricket in Australia. Before the Indian captain, Sir Vivian Richards, Brian Lara, Desmond Haynes, David Gower, and Sachin Tendulkar all scored over 3000 runs in Australia. The former great West Indies batsman Vivian Richards has the most runs in Australia for an overseas batsman with 4529 runs in 95 innings.

Meanwhile, Kohli will be again looking to lead from the front when he leads team India in the historic day and night Test at Adelaide. Virat Kohli has a phenomenal record at Adelaide in Tests which he will be keen to maintain when the first Test begins on December 17.

The Indian captain will not be taking part in the last 3 Tests as he has been granted a paternity leave by BCCI. So far on the tour Australia were able to win the ODI series by 2-1 whereas India made a comeback and clinched the T20I series with the same margin.
