Rohit Sharma along with Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill have landed themselves in difficulty. The following team India members have probably breached the bio-bubble. These Indian players stepped outside to eat at a restaurant in Melbourne on January 1.
A cricket fan spotted the Indian cricketers at the restaurant and posted a video on Twitter. The fan, by the name of Navaldeep Singh, even paid their $118 bill at Secret Kitchen Chinese restaurant at Chadstone Shopping Centre. He even claimed that he interacted with Rishabh Pant and even hugged him which is why Cricket Australia (CA) and BCCI are examining the matter.
Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and others may have breached bio-bubble
As per Cricket Australia’s bio-security protocol, players are allowed to eat out at restaurants but have to be seated outside. The video that went viral on Twitter proved that the cricketers were sitting inside the restaurant and even without a mask which has surprised everyone. However, thus far it hasn’t been established that team India players have not followed the bio-bubble protocols.
No photos of Rohit Sharma and other cricketers in the video with any fan close to them has been detected. Also, Many have criticised Rohit Sharma alone for the trouble as he was the most experienced player and he has only joined team India a few days back.

BCCI And CA Investigating
Meanwhile, Cricket Australia is very strict when it comes to the bio-bubble protocols. They levied a substantial fine to Brisbane Heat after their players Chris Lynn and Dan Lawrence were found to have taken a selfie with a fan.
If after BCCI and CA investigation, it is confirmed that team India players did step out of the bubble, the players might be banned from playing the SCG Test. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill may not feature in the third Test match against Australia.

Furthermore, while we wait for the official statement the good thing is that according to ANI sources from BCCI has asserted, “Indian players has followed all COVID protocols while going to the restaurant and there is no issue to make out of this. The fan has already told he was out of excitement while tweeting about the hugging incident”.
