Arjun Tendulkar earned his maiden call for senior Mumbai side as they announce squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The domestic T20 competition will kickstart from January 10 and will be played six venues under strict bio-secure bubble due to coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, an all-rounder – Arjun was knocking the doors for quite sometime now after a couple of good outings in the Mumbai T20 league. Although he was below par during the selection matches, the selectors showed trust in the 21-year-old youngster, who is also the son of Sachin Tendulkar. This is the first junior Tendulkar has been added to the Mumbai squad and will play under the leadership of Surykumar Yadav.

Arjun Tendulkar has earlier represented Mumbai Under-19 and India Under-19. He was first picked for India U-19 in June 2018 for two four-day matches in Sri Lanka. He has been seen bowling in the Mumbai Indians and India nets on several occasions.
Apart from Arjun, medium-pacer Krutik Hanagavadi has also been added to the original 20-man Mumbai squad which was announced on December 26. The squad also boasts a couple of youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube.
“Earlier the BCCI had asked to select 20 players. But later they said that 22 players can be selected in the squad, accordingly the two players were added to the squad,” an MCA official told PTI.
Mumbai will open their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy encounter on January 11 at the Wankhede Stadium against Delhi.
