Team India has dealt with another major blow with wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant suffering an injury while batting on day 3 of the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. If he is ruled out, this will be India’s fourth blow after Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and KL Rahul. Previously, they have already lost Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Rishabh Pant looked confident during his 36-run knock until that deadly bouncer from Pat Cummins struck his elbow. Bowled at 141.4kph, Pant tried to go after the well-directed short ball with a pull and got hit on the left elbow.
Rishabh Pant suffers injury scare
The ball didn’t bounce as much as Pant expected it to and it scooted under his blade. He was standing outside his crease too which made things worse for Rishabh pant. He wasn’t wearing an arm guard and looked in immense pain. The physio ran out to attend him and tried to pacify Pant with a big strap.

Although the youngster carried on with his innings, but looked in utter discomfort. Rishabh Pant went back shortly after from where India never managed to recover and was all out for 244 runs with Australia securing a 94-run lead.
Meanwhile, as per reports in Cricbuzz, Rishabh Pant has gone for the scans with the team doctor. BCCI also confirmed the news soon after. He had a strap over his injured elbow and is unlikely to keep wickets in the second innings. Wriddhiman Saha is likely to come out with the gloves on for India in Sydney. He was seen training with India’s fielding coach R Sridhar soon after India’s innings with the pads on.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja also suffered a blow on his fingers soon after Rishabh Pant walked off the field. But he carried on with his batting and will come out to field in the second innings.
India were at 194 for the loss of four wickets before being bowled out for 244 runs thanks to Australia’s brilliant show in the field inducing three run-outs. Pat Cummins starred with the ball for the hosts returning with a four-wicket haul; thus, helping the Aussies secure a 94-run lead.
