Mohammed Siraj picked up five for 73 as Australia were bowled out for 294 in the second innings. He is the first Indian bowler to take a fifer in this Test series after all the regular bowlers in the Indian team were ruled out due to injury. India need 324 more runs to win the Test series with 98 overs left in the final day’s play. Shardul Thakur took the catch of Josh Hazlewood to give Siraj his fifth wicket in the innings. He finished with four for 62 after scoring 67 with the bat earlier.
Meanwhile, the right-arm pacer joined an elite list of Indian bowlers who have taken five or more wickets at The Gabba. He now has picked up 13 wickets in the series and overtaken the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mohammed Siraj Joins Elite List
With his five-wicket haul, Siraj joined an elite list of Indian bowlers as he became only the fifth from the country to pick up a fifer at the Gabba. He joined the likes of Bishan Singh Bedi, Erapali Prasanna, and Zaheer Khan among others, who have taken a fifer in a Test match at The Gabba.

Both Siraj and Shardul were persistent in the post-lunch session, They shared nine wickets amongst themselves while Sundar picked up Warner and Natarajan went wicketless in the second innings. Shardul dismissed Harris, Green, Paine, and Lyon. Siraj, on the other hand, dismissed the likes of Smith, Labuschagne, Starc, Wade, and Hazlewood.
