The recently-concluded Test match between India and England witnessed some hilarious conversations recorded on the stump-mic. In one such recorded exchange, Virat Kohli was heard complaining to umpire Nitin Menon about the England batsmen running from the middle of the wicket.

On day 4 of the Test match, the India captain was unimpressed by the running between the wickets of the England batsmen in the recently concluded 1st Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Virat Kohli was certainly not impressed by the turn of events and lost his cool.

“Oye, Menon (Nitin Menon), seedhe run bhi beech me bhaag raha hai yaar (he’s even running easy runs in the middle of the pitch),” Virat Kohli was heard saying over the stump mic. “Kya hai ye (What is this)?,” the Indian skipper added.

Meanwhile, speaking about the game, England set up a target of 420 runs for India in the fourth innings at a deteriorating Chepauk wicket. Virat Kohli fought a lone battle with his patient knock (72) as the hosts failed to scale the mammoth target on Day 5 of the 1st Test in Chennai.

Team India was bowled out for a paltry 192 by England in their second innings thanks to a brilliant spell from James Anderson where he removed Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and Ajinkya Rahane to break India’s middle-order before Jack Leach ran down the lower-order.

The hosts will have to regroup within a couple of days before the second Test commences on February 13 (Saturday) at the same venue where India play to fight back in the series.
