Team India skipper Virat Kohli achieved an unlikely feat after he got out for a duck in the first innings of the second Test against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Meanwhile, the hosts have consolidated well after losing three wickets very quickly in the first session of the Test.
Kohli is going through a lean patch with his last century coming in November 2019 and the long wait continues. Moeen Ali bowled a gem of a delivery inducing Virat Kohli to drive very early in his innings; leaving a massive gap between his bat and pad.
Virat Kohli registers unwanted record
The ball spun a lot to pierce the gap and unrattle Kohli’s timber as the batsman was left in utter disbelief. The talismanic run-scorer thought that the ball off the wicket-keeper’s glove but the replays confirmed the ball had hit the wicket on his way to the wicket-keeper.

Most ducks for Indian captains across formats:

12Â VIRAT KOHLI*
11Â MS Dhoni
Thus, Virat Kohli moved past MS Dhoni and now has the second-most ducks among Indian captains taking all three formats into account. The current BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly continues to occupy the top spot in the unwanted list. Moreover, this also became the first time that Kohli was bowled in successive innings at home.
