6:04 PM: Kyle Jamieson from New Zealand is next at a base price of $75 lakhs. The tall and lanky all-rounder is expected to take away a big from IPL 2021 auction.

RCB start the big at the base price. Delhi Capitals join next. An intense bidding war from both camps for Jamieson, who has impressed with his all-round show. Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir predicted big buys for the Kiwi cricketer.

Ohh, there is not stopping Delhi and RCB, who take the price to ₹7.50 crores and Punjab Kings join the race late at ₹7.75 crores. They have been a late starter and have taken calculated risks so far.

RCB offer ₹10 crores for Jamieson but Punjab go past again and bidding continues. It’s all between RCB and Punjab.

Jamieson’s bid has now crossed Glenn Maxwell’s ₹15 crores. There are more pauses between bids now, but nobody seems like they’re giving up yet.

RCB have the last laugh as they rope in Kyle Jamieson for a whopping ₹15 crores.

4:33 PM: Jhye Richardson out of the hat next.

Royal Challengers Bangalore starts the bidding before Punjab Kings come out all guns blazing. Delhi Capitals also join the race and it has now become a three-way race between Delhi, Bangalore, and Punjab.

However, it was Delhi and RCB who went fiercely for the Aussie quick as the heat continued to rise in Chennai.

Punjab rejoin the race again at ₹7.25 crores as Delhi Capitals walked away from the bidding war. The price surges up to ₹10 crores after Punjab bid for Richardson and RCB also catch up to take the price to ₹11.75 crores.

Preity Zinta was also in no mood to be lag back and raise the bat at ₹12 crores before Bangalore go Richardson at ₹12.75 crores.

Punjab Kings have been very active today at the auction and Preity Zinta and Anil Kumble was seen doing a lot of calculations.

Bangalore walked out of the race at ₹14 crores and Punjab Kings have the fast bowler from Australia.

Rajasthan Royals join the race at ₹1 crore. Sold to the Royals at the base price. 

4:27 PM: Adam Milne is the first in the line at ₹50 lakhs

Mumbai Indians start bidding at the last minute before Rajasthan Royals join at ₹55 lakhs.

Both franchises take a cautious approach for the Kiwi fast bowler. Mumbai raises the heat for Milne. Shane Bond is part of their backroom staff of Mumbai and Bond is Milne’s mentor. Bond has also worked with Milne at Sydney Thunder in the BBL.

Rajasthan Royals walked out before Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the race at but it was Mumbai Indians who grabbed Adam Milne.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are the first to bid. RCB, who released him ahead of the auction also join the race for the Proteas all-rounder.

It was a rollercoaster ride between RCB and MI for Chris Morris.

Is the Virat Kohli-led franchise scratching their head for releasing Morris?

Mumbai Indians take the bid to ₹9 crores as they look for an all-rounder alongside Hardik Pandya having released James Pattinson and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Woohoo! Punjab Kings enter the fray at ₹13.50 crores.

Rajasthan Royals bid at ₹14.75 crores and Punjab come back at ₹15 crores. They entered late but are setting the standards with fierce bidding.

But Rajasthan are keeping at it with back-to-back bids before taking some out. After a lot of discussion, they raise the bat at 15.75 crores for Chris Morris.

A lot of debates going on at the Punjab table as everyone works out the maths on their phone. Punjab join at a whopping ₹16 crores and Rajasthan take it to ₹16.25 crores.

Will Punjab make a comeback for Morris? No, they walk out of the bid.

3:44 PM: Shivam Dube is next in the line at ₹50 lakhs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are the first to go for the former RCB all-rounder before Rajasthan Royals join the race.

Rajasthan and Hyderabad are now locked in a bidding way for the Indian hard-hitter.

Hyderabad walks out at ₹3.6 crores before Delhi Capitals join the race at ₹3.8 crores for the youngster.

Rajasthan Royals take home Shivam Dube at ₹4.4 crores. 

3:38 PM: Former RCB all-rounder Moeen Ali is next in the line.

Punjab Kings start the race for the English all-rounder. CSK joins in at $2.2 crores before Punjab take it ₹2.4 crores.

CSK currently lead at ₹4.2 crores before Punjab trail ahead in the race at ₹4.8 crores. Another bidding war at the auction room and Zinta and Kumble are seen having an animated chat at the table.

₹6.25 crores with Punjab and CSK make it to ₹6.50 within a few seconds.

A lot of discussions between the stakeholders of both CSK and Punjab for Moeen Ali. CSL lead the race at ₹7 crores before Punjab walks out of the race.

₹2.4 crores – Shakib will KKR. There is a lot of discussions between Anil Kumble and Priety Zinta.

And Punjab come back at the last moment but lags behind.

KKR take Shakib Al Hasan at ₹3.2 crores. Back to his former franchise, for whom he won the IPL title in 2012 and 2014. 

3:33 PM: Kedar Jadhav goes unsold. No takers for him. 

3:19 PM: Glenn Maxwell is the first all-rounder out of the hat.

Kolkata Knight Riders join the race at ₹2 crores. Rajasthan Royals join and induces a bidding war for the hard-hitting all-rounder from the land of Kangaroos.

Royal Challengers Bangalore joins the race at ₹3 crores.  KKR is still in the race but RCB trails them before Chennai Super Kings joins ₹4.6 crores.

It’s a neck-to-neck fight between RCB and CSK as the price surges for Glenn Maxwell, who was expected to trigger a bidding war.

CSK are ahead in the race with ₹10crores but RCB comes from behind to take the bid to ₹10.25 crores. It’s all heating up on the auction floor and CSK go past RCB at ₹11.50 crores.

RCB are back in the picture at ₹11.75 crores. CSK bid at ₹12 crores for Maxwell and then take it ₹12.50 crores.

CSK takes it to $13 crores for Glenn Maxwell to strengthen their middle-order but RCB join back at ₹13.25 crores and is winning the battle currently.

CSK and RCB fight it out for Glen Maxwell as others have a laugh in the room.

IPL and Glenn Maxwell – it’s a perfect match as he grabs mammoth sums every time he lands in the auction.

RCB, who started the bidding ended the bidding at $14.25 crores.

Maxwell will now join Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in Bangalore.

Moving to Set No. 2 – the all-rounders set. Watch out for the return of Shakib, Moeen, Maxwell.
