Sachin Tendulkar is gearing up for the Road Safety World Series which will kick off on March 2. The first edition of the star-studded tournament had to be postponed as COVID-19 peaked in India. This series is an initiative by the Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra in association with the Professional Management Group (PMG).
Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador of the league and will also be leading the India legends side in the competition. All the matches of the Road Safety World Series will be played at Raipur and each person associated with the tournament will have to follow all COVID-19 protocols.
The series aims to create road awareness among the general public and change their overall mindset on the road for their progress. Ahead of the competition, Sachin Tendulkar has begun his practice in an indoor net facility where he was seen playing some sumptuous drives. The former legendary India batsman in a new video can be seen fine-tuning his skills and middling almost every delivery which he faced in the nets. Meanwhile, in this edition of the series the Australia legends side will not be taking part due to travel constraints Down Under. The organisers have replaced the Australian side with Bangladesh and England Legends who will be playing the upcoming edition of the RSWS in Raipur.
“It gives me immense pleasure to welcome the England Legends and the Bangladesh Legends to the Unacademy Road Safety World Series.”Their participation will add to the competitive spirit of this exciting series. The importance of this series has gained further relevance given the fact that the number of deaths due to road accidents haven’t lessened even during the pandemic. We all need to carry on with our efforts to create maximum awareness towards road safety and save as many lives as possible on Indian roads,” said Founder of the Road Safety World Series, Konkan Range.
