Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is having a match to remember as he has now affected a stumping after scoring his third Test ton. He stumped Ollie Pore off Axar Patel after almost losing the ball initially. Pope was the fifth England batsman to fall in the session soon followed by Joe Root.
The ball which dismissed Pope fell on the middle stump and turned away from the right-hander. Rishabh Pant did not collect the ball in the first attempt and completed the stumping almost off-balanced.
The Indian spinners have well and truly got the England batters on the mat. They still trail the Indian first innings total by over 80 runs in the second innings and are already six down.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Washington Sundar was left stranded on 96 Test ton on day 3 of the fourth Test against England. After a string of good scores and an 85 in the first Test in Chennai, Sundar was once again stranded agonisingly short of his maiden Test ton. He started day 3 on 60 and played watchfully to bring up his maiden Test ton. He was ably supported by Axar Patel at the other end as the duo added a 106-run stand.
Both Sundar and Axar played the situation very well and capitalised on the first session extending their overnight stand. India had scored quickly in the partnership before Axar Patel was run-out at the non-striker’s end in an attempt to help Sundar get close to his personal milestone. The Indian scorecard read 365 after Axar’s dismissal.
Ben Stokes picked up India’s final two wickets in the same over. First, he trapped Ishant Sharma plumb in front of the wicket. A couple of balls later, he went through the defenses of Mohammed Siraj. Meanwhile, England are staring down the barrel in this Test match as well as India are on the verge of winning the series 3-1. This win will guarantee India a spot in the World Test Championship final alongside New Zealand.
