Rishabh Pant has been making the headlines ever since he made a spirited comeback to the national side last year. The youngster will hope to keep up the good job when he dons the Delhi Capitals journey in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Capitals will begin their campaign against the Chennai Super Kings on April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Pant has been bestowed with additional responsibilities of leading the side in the absence of regular skipper Shreyas Iyer. The Delhi Capitals franchise will miss the service of their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is out of the entire tournament with a dislocated shoulder. Despite having the likes of Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravichandran Ashwin in their ranks, the management showed trust in young Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh Pant gears up for IPL 2021
After reviving himself in international cricket with consistent scores, Rishabh Pant is all set to lead Delhi Capitals from the front. And the cricketer is looking in good touch ahead smashing the Delhi bowlers to the cleaners in the practice sessions. In a recent video shared on Instagram by the franchise, Rishabh Pant is seen joining his DC teammates and interacting with everyone in an evening training session. One can see him talking to Ricky Ponting, Ishant Sharma, and Sam Billings.
Then he can be seen donning his helmet and smacking the ball in the net. He is seen unleashing his entire array of shots in the nets, including his flick, scoop, sweep, and coming out to hit the spinners out of the ground.

Speaking on his new role, Rishabh Pant admitted that he is humbled to get this opportunity and his only aim will be to guide Delhi to the trophy in the upcoming season.

“I am truly grateful, especially to our team owners, who considered me capable enough for this role. With an amazing coaching staff and a plethora of accomplished seniors around me, I can`t wait to give my absolute best for Delhi Capitals,” he added.
