Kyle Jamieson was nervous to watch the New Zealand World Test Championship final run chase with his teammates. Although the target New Zealand got to chase was just 139, still Jamieson found the bathroom a more comfortable place to witness the historical chase. The speedster believed that noise from the Indian crowd made him very nervous.
The Kiwi bowlers were able to restrict team India at the score of just 170 in the third innings of the match. Tim Southee was the main man in this innings as he scalped 4 wickets. However, Kyle Jamieson was the overall MVP in the bowling for his 5 wickets in the first innings and 2 in the second. He was able to dismiss the Indian skipper Virat Kohli in both innings.
Eventually, Captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor took kiwis towards a comfortable run chase with 8 wickets remaining. However, Kane Williamson reached his fifty but Taylor missed it by 3 runs. While speaking with Country Sports Breakfast on Gold AM, Giant pacer revealed that he was very nervous while watching this run-chase.

“It was probably the toughest period of cricket I’ve been a part of, in terms of watching. We were sitting inside and actually watching on TV. There was a bit of a delay but it seemed like every ball the Indian crowd was up and about and I was like ‘jeez it’s a wicket’ or something like that, but it turned out it was just a block or a single,” said Jamieson.

Several Blackcaps players returned home after the WTC final, but 26-year-old didn’t come back. Kyle Jamieson remained in England for playing T20 for Surrey. Jamieson disclosed it was very tough to say goodbye to his friends and opined it is very important to concentrate on forthcoming challenges.
“It was certainly tough to say goodbye to those guys. Coming off a high of what we just experienced and that moment we all enjoyed together, to go and say goodbye was quite tough. It was a quick turnaround. I think within 48 hours I was back on the park playing T20 for Surrey. It’s kind of the life we live a little bit. But it’s nice to stay on and to experience county cricket for the next few weeks,” Jamieson said.
