England Announce An Unchanged Squad For The Pakistan ODI Series

England Cricket has announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming Royal London ODI series against Pakistan. The squad remains unchanged from the ongoing Sri Lanka series, which they lead 2-0.

The squad was announced on the England Cricket Team’s official Twitter handle, a day prior to the final ODI between England and Sri Lanka.

The notable names missing from the England squad are Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. The former sustained a calf injury during the first T20I against the Lankans. He’s likely to be out for the T20I series as well.

On the other hand, Ben Stokes is slowly making his comeback to competitive cricket. He’s currently playing for Durham in the Vitality T20 Blast. England didn’t want to rush his inclusion and have given him a bit more time to get back to full match-fitness.

Tom Banton, who was added to the third ODI squad against Sri Lanka, will also meet up with the squad in Bristol. Number one T20I batsman, Dawid Malan, has excused himself from selection owing to personal reasons.

England squad for Pakistan series: Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, Jonathan Bairstow (wk), Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, George Garton, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood

Pakistan series to start from July 8

Following the ODI series against Sri Lanka that ends on Sunday, June 4, England will face off against Pakistan in a limited over series. The first of the three-match ODI series will be played on July 8. The 3-match T20I series is yet to be announced however.
