Dwayne Bravo”s “masterpiece” innings lead CSK to victory by one wicket against MI in the IPL opener at Wankhede.
Bravo smashed 68 of 30 deliveries with 7 huge sixes as he made sure to announce the return of kings in style after a ban of two years. He hit 20 runs off the penultimate over off Bumrah smashing the ball to all the corners of the ground.
Earlier in the first innings bravo bowled a thrifty spell in his death overs that restricted MI from reaching a 190+ total.
It is to be noted that Bravo sported the jersey no 400 in the match that marked his achievement of 400+ wickets in the shortest format of the game in several leagues across the world.
Kedar Jadhav (who suffered an injury in the middle of innings) finished the things for CSK in the last over when 7 runs were still in store for the victory. Calm under pressure, he hit a six and four off Fizz”s over and added two points to the CSK wallet.
Bravo was retained by the CSK franchise in the auctions held in the month of January and he restored the faith in the franchise by delivering a “belligerent” innings.
Mayank Markande was the star with the ball for MI as he picked up the best figures for MI by a debutant (3/24).
CSK will play their next match against KKR at Chepauk on April 10th.
