Former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja was angry with the team’s batting collapse in the second ODI. They lost the rain-truncated second ODI by 52 runs thus losing the ODI seris to almost an England-B side with all their senior players missing. Raja was livid with how their batsmen failed to put up a fight after their bowlers bowled out the opposition under 250.
An angry Ramiz Raja lashed out at the Pakistan players on his latest Youtube video. He slammed the team for their below-par batting and expressed his disappointment over Pakistan’s loss to England’s ‘No.2 Team’.
“If you map this series defeat on the Richter scale, the value of shock will clock fifteen. It’s a massive blow and I don’t understand how one can defend it. It’s England’s No.2 team, in terms of talent,” Raja said in his latest YouTube video.
He further said that with the T20 World Cup coming up, this performance from the Pakistan team is not acceptable at all.
Pakistan’s Performance Is Not Defendable: Ramiz Raja
“The performance isn’t defendable. If the alarm bells don’t ring now, I don’t know when they will. It’s a World Cup year, though it’s a T20 World Cup, and such headlines are unbearable Pakistan fans,” he added.
Ramiz Raja further questioned the coaches and the team selection of players. The former skipper said that the team is losing out on support from their fans due to their below-par performance.
“You saw their sad faces at Lord’s. They take pride in Pakistan cricket but we have lost their love and strength. Their attendance in England, Australia and even in South Africa are decreasing because their expectations are dying.
“How much more time should be given to the coaches before their performance is judged? Extremely awful selection. Some overrated players keep on playing for Pakistan,” Raja said on the coaching staff.
The third and final ODI will be played on July 13 in Birmingham. Both sides will then play a three-match T20I series between July 16-20.
