The India tour of the Sri Lanka limited-overs series is all set to begin from 18 July 2021. The series contains three ODI and three T20I matches. Sri Lanka is entering the series against India after a horrible outing in the England tour. Also, star batsman and captain Kusal Perera will miss the entire series due to an injury. Meanwhile, Saba Karim believes that Sri Lankan batting line-up is extremely fragile.
Saba Karim was seen previewing that ODI series between India and Sri Lanka on India News. Former Indian cricketer pinpointed it will be a tough job for Lankans to go against the Indian team. He asserted:
“Our team has plenty of match-winners, so it will be very difficult for Sri Lanka. Although I feel their bowling is a little strong, I see their batting to be very fragile.”

The 53-year-old opined that Shikhar Dhawan-led side is just too strong for an inexperienced Sri Lankan squad. Saba Karim explained:
“Our team is extremely strong. I don’t think the Sri Lankan team will get too many chances. We have the experience and the talent, and we know how to perform in ODI matches and how to win matches.”
Notably, the Indian team is without many star players in the Sri Lanka tour. Big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah are not in the squad. The above-mentioned players are in England for the five-match Test series.
Meanwhile, even in absence of many players, Team India looks pretty strong. The team contains white-ball specialist players and has experience players like Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Krunal Pandya.

Also, former Indian wicket-keeper believes Lankan players do not have any baggage and they can come and play their natural game. He feels The young inexperienced players can put some fight against the Indian lineup. Saba Karim stated:
“I am seeing one advantage for Sri Lanka, that quite a few of their new players will come in this series. They will not have any baggage and they can come and express themselves. If the Sri Lankan team goes into the ground with that mindset, we can expect to see some fight.”
Team Sri Lanka will be led by Dasun Shanaka in the limited-overs series. Dasun took over the captaincy due to the absence of captain Kusal Perera. Also experienced all-rounder Angelo Mathews will not be available as he has opted out of the series.
