The game of Cricket is filled with a lot of emotion however spooky or mysterious is not a word that is associated with Cricket. Notably, a very unusual and strange thing happened in the Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20I encounter.
During the match, the wickets got dislodged and the bowling team; celebrated for the hit wicket. However, later the replay showed that bails have come off on their own and wickets have dislodged themselves.
The strange and spooky incident happened during the Bangladesh chase. Team Bangladesh was chasing 167 runs target and in the 18th over this incident occurred. Tendai Chatara was the bowler and Mohammad Saifuddin was the batsman.
Just before Chatara delivered a bowl the wickets got dislodged and everybody thought that the Bangladesh batter has got out through hit wicket. However, the replay clearly showed that Saifuddin was far away from the stumps while batting. Also, the reason behind bails getting blow off was most probably the strong wind.
Notably, only bails weren’t blown off due to the wind even stumps got dislodged due to strong wind. Adding to it usually stumps only get knocked off when a cricketer does it intentionally. Even sometimes it has been seen that stumps didn’t even move with the fast bowler’s delivery. The ball touches the stumps but it doesn’t do any harm to the stumps.
