Team India cricketer Mayank Agarwal, who suffered a blow on the head hours ahead of the first Test, has returned to training. He will be available for selection for the second match, which starts on August 12 (Thursday) in London.
Mayank copped a head injury while batting at the nets off a Mohammed Siraj bouncer. He was immediately attended by BCCI’s medical team and later was ruled out of the first Test. And now ahead of the 2nd Test, Mayank Agarwal has rejoined the training session and will be available for selection.

Despite being available for selection, Mayank Agarwal is likely to warm the benches after KL Rahul’s stupendous show in the first Test.
KL Rahul, who replaced Mayank Agarwal, grabbed the opportunity with both hands
The Karnataka-born batsman, who made a comeback to the Test side after almost 2 years, cashed in on the opportunity. Rahul played a fine knock of 84 runs in the first innings and held the batting unit from end.
His knock proved to be crucial as India secured a much-needed first-innings lead which ascended them on the driver’s seat before rain played a spoilsport. With rain gods ruining the entire day 5’s play, India had to settle for a draw.
KL Rahul was showered with praise for his impeccable show in Nottingham. Virender Sehwag praised KL Rahul’s shot selection during his comeback innings. Speaking on a show in Sony Sports, Sehwag said:
“There are two types of mindset, you can make a comeback either in Rahul Dravid style, where you don’t play a shot at all and become extremely defensive, or you play aggressively in Sehwag style. Both are difficult, so you have to find your own way which is best for you.”
KL Rahul will look to keep up the good work and seal his berth in the Test side with a couple of important series lined up.
