As per reports in ANI, the BCCI along with the Emirates Cricket Board are seeking permission from the UAE government to allow capacity crowd for the final of the T20 World Cup 2021. Through the event is being played in the UAE, BCCI still are the hosts of the tournament. Due to the increased number of COVID cases, the BCCI decided to shift the event from India to the UAE.

The BCCI and ECB have approached UAE authorities, hoping to get the requisite permissions. The final will be played on November 14.

“The BCCI and the ECB is keen to have capacity crowd for the final. It would be an electric atmosphere if permission for the same if granted keeping all protocols in mind. The boards have sought permission from the authorities, keeping fingers crossed,” a source was quoted as telling the news agency.

The UAE is currently hosting the second leg of IPL 2021 with the venues hosting half of the crowd capacity as per the guidelines of the BCCI and the ECB. In Dubai, fans need to show proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.

Coming to Sharjah, only fans above years of 16 are being allowed entry for IPL 2021 matches. Along with the vaccination report, people must carry PCR test results done 48 hours prior to entering the venue.

The Emirates Cricket Board are closely working the UAE government to allow fans inside stadiums during IPL 2021.

Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, fans below the age of 16 are allowed to enter into the stadiums. Young fans in the age group of 12 to 15 should have their negative RTR-PCR reports along with them. Fans above 16 need to carry vaccination proof plus PCR test results.

Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup 2021 will be played between October 17-November 14. The league stage starts from October 23 with India and Pakistan taking on each other on October 24. The first semi-final will be played in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and the second in Dubai on November 11. The final will be played on November 14 in Dubai as well.
