Defending champions Mumbai Indians cricketers led by Rohit Sharma will enter Team India’s hotel in Dubai on October 12 (Tuesday) ahead of the T20 World Cup. The global T20 meet is slated to run between October 17 to November 14 in the UAE and Oman.
Mumbai crashed out of IPL 2021 finishing fifth in the points table. They were at par with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in terms of points but fell short in net run rate. A report in the ANI has confirmed that the Mumbai Indians cricketers will enter The Palm today, where the Indian cricketers will be staying during the entire competition.
“Rohit and boys are coming in today. It would obviously be in focus how Hardik is progressing and that is no rocket science. But he should be good to go for the showpiece event,” the source said to ANI.

The spotlight will be on all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the team management would look to assess his progress with the team’s opening T20 World Cup game against arch-rivals Pakistan two weeks away.
When quizzed if the Baroda-born all-rounder can play solely as a finisher, the source said:
“Well, that call obviously needs to be taken by the team management and with MS Dhoni coming in as mentor, you do know the best call will be taken. But yes, you must realise the lack of big-match experience in the Indian middle-order, especially when it comes to handling high-voltage clashes like India-Pakistan.”
