IPL 2021: Virat Kohli Opens Up On His Future With Royal Challengers Bangalore After Giving Up Captaincy

Virat Kohli ended his captaincy tenure with RCB on a losing note against KKR in the Eliminator on Monday. In the process, they made an exit from the tournament as KKR advanced to the second qualifier against Delhi Capitals to be played on Wednesday. Kohli spoke about stepping down from captaincy to manage workload before their UAE leg started. They made it to the playoffs with two games left in the league stage and also won the final game heading into the playoffs.

Speaking after the game with Ian Bishop, Virat Kohli opened up on his future with RCB. Kohli threw light on his captaincy stint, and talked about his commitment to the team.

“I have tried my best to create a culture here where youngsters could come in and play aggressive cricket, with freedom and belief. It is something I have done with the India team as well. I have given my best. I don’t know how the response has been on that, but I have given 120% to this franchise every time, which is something I will now do as a player. It’s a great time to regroup, and restructure the franchise for the next three years and bring in people who will take this ahead” said Kohli.
