Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has highlighted that India’s fate in ICC T20 World Cup 2021 lies in other teams’ hands. India has lost both their matches so far in the tournament, and are reeling in the bottom two of the points table.
The Virat Kohli-led team will take on Afghanistan in a must-win game on November 3 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan has won two out of their three games so far. Previewing India vs Afghanistan match on his Youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra expressed that it won’t be a cakewalk for India against Afghanistan. He said,
“Nothing is easy, to win a match in the World Cup, now I see all the matches as difficult. We have lost to Pakistan and New Zealand. Our fate is hanging by a very thin thread. We have already put our lives’ remote control in others’ hands.”

“I am still saying India will win but is it actually a cakewalk. There are no games that are cakewalks in this World Cup as far as we are concerned. The toss will be in focus again. But do you still need the toss to defeat Afghanistan? Toss is important but it is not the be-all and end-all,” Aakash Chopra added.
Take Afghanistan lightly at your own peril: Aakash Chopra warns India
The former cricketer has also warned the Virat Kohli-led Indian team to not take Afghanistan lightly. He highlighted India’s misery against spinners and added that Mujeeb-ur-Rahman could trouble the Indian batters. Aakash also pointed out that Afghanistan has hard-hitting batters in their arsenal. He said,
“Afghanistan is a serious threat. Take them lightly at your own peril. If we were stuck in front of Shadab, Ish, and Santner, there will be three excellent spinners here. If Mujeeb is fit, our story is going to be very difficult.”
“Afghanistan has batsmen who like to play the big shots. Their batsmen don’t have any timidness. They do have a very decent batting lineup. They will keep on attacking. If a guy is there for 30 balls, he will kill you,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
