Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has revealed his preferred choices for Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2022 retentions. The BCCI has asked the players to submit the names of the retained players by November 30. CSK previously announced of MS Dhoni being their first choice for retention. However, Gambhir seems to have different opinion about the same.

Speaking to Star Sports, Gambhir picked Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran as his 4 picks. While Jadeja and Ruturaj are automatic picks, Faf, Moeen and Sam seems to be fighting for the one overseas spot.

IPL 2021- MS Dhoni witty reply to Harsha Bhogle asking about his legacy

Talking to Harsha Bhigle after the IPL 2021 final, Dhoni hinted of playing the next IPL season. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the next IPL season will be played in India bringing an end to all speculations.

“Well, I still have left behind (anything),” MS Dhoni said.

“Again I’ve said it before, it depends on BCCI. With two new teams coming in……we have to decide what is good for CSK. It’s not about me being there in top-three or four. It’s about making a strong core to ensure the franchise doesn’t suffer. The core group, we have to have a hard look to see who can contribute for the next 10 years,” Dhoni said.

CSK retaining MS Dhoni is almost confirmed after ESPN Cricinfo released the list of players likely to be retained by the respective franchises. It has names of all players who are going to be retained by the 8 franchises.
