Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer has said that the upcoming tour to South Africa will be a challenging one for Virat Kohli and his boys. The India team is yet to win a Test series in the Rainbow nation. The series is being named the “Final Frontier” for India in their quest to win an overseas Test series.
Speaking exclusively to News 18, Wasim Jaffer said that the upcoming tour will be a challenging one for India and the South African pacers will challenge the Indian batsmen.
“South Africa has a decent fast bowling attack, there is no doubt Rabada is one of the best. He is going to challenge the Indian batters. They have sufficient quality. Their pace bowling will definitely challenge India. But their batting is not the same it was before. Nonetheless, it will be a challenging tour for India.”

Wasim Jaffer further said that the challenge for the Indian batsmen will be to put runs on the board. Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the series with the likes of Kohli, Rahane and Pujara struggling with form. KL Rahul who had a good series against England looks like the only in-form player with the bat.
Worrying Middle-Order A Concern For Team India
Meanwhile, the former Indian batsman has entrusted his faith in the Indian bowlers to get the job done. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami go in as spearheads with Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur as the other options.

“India’s bowlers will keep their team in the game. The Indian fast bowling is very experienced now. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have a lot of experience. India has an all-round attack. I have been saying that if India scores 400 plus, it is more likely that it will win matches. Our bowling attack is first class. The challenge is for the batters to put scores on the board” Jaffer said.
