On the back of Virat Kohli’s 149, the Indian Cricket team have bounced back strongly on the 2nd day of 1st test match played at Edgbaston just finished a few moments ago. After being bowled out for 287, India was struggling but Kohli made sure that they were just 13 runs short. Before the close of play, R Ashwin dismissed Cook again to leave England with a lead of 22 runs.
Mohammed Shami did not take much time to dismiss Sam Curran on the first very over itself. India bowled out England for 287. The Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay started on a positive note with aggressive stroke play against England new ball bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad.
Sam Curran got the breakthrough dismissing Murali Vijay for 20. In the same over, Sam Curran dismissed KL Rahul for 0. It was a brilliant display of bowling by Sam Curran who dismissed Shikhar Dhawan for 26. The Indian captain Virat Kohli and Rahane took India into lunch at 76 for 3.
After the lunch break, Ben Stokes got the wicket of Rahane and Dinesh Karthik in quick succession to leave India at 100 for 5. The Indian captain Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya looked steady with a solid 48 runs stand for the 6th wicket. Sam Curran dismissed Hardik Pandya for 22. Kohli reached his half-century off 100 balls. India went into the tea break at 160 for 6.

In the third session, James Anderson got the wicket of Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami to reduce India to 182 for 8. Virat Kohli did not take singles giving the strike to Ishant Sharma on 4th or 5th ball.
Adil Rashid dismissed Ishant Sharma for 5. Both Kohli and Ishant Sharma added 35 for the 9th wicket. Captain Kohli reached his first century on England soil off 172 balls. The Indian captain took charge hitting boundaries and did not give many strikes to Umesh Yadav. It was a superb inning by Kohli who was dismissed for 149. India was bowled out for 274 with the lead of just 13 runs to England.
