Pakistan had the last smile as they defeated Afghanistan by three wickets in a close encounter yesterday. Shoaib Malik proved his masterclass with an unbeaten half-century as he bagged the MOM award.
Than award what really won hearts is his gesture towards Afghan bowler Aftab Alam. The latter was in tears as he couldn”t help his side towards a great victory. Malik and Hasan Ali walked towards him and consoled for his spending efforts for keeping the side in the game till the end.
When 18 runs were required from last two overs, Pakistan batsmen handled the pressure and dealt with boundaries. Malik”s consecutive boundaries helped the side to register a win after a dismal performance against India.
This gesture reminded us of Grant Elliott who consoled Dale Steyn after Proteas” heartbreaking loss in the semifinals of World cup 2015. Little moments like this redefine the spirit of gentleman”s game. This video is circulated in social media and receiving a lot of accolades.
