India and West Indies are facing each other in the second game of three-match T20I series, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first. West Indies have brought in Jason Holder in place of Fabien Allen, while India are playing with an unchanged XI.
Coming in at no.3 for India, Virat Kohli made a swashbuckling half-century. He looked in great touch during his boundary-filled knock. His innings contained seven fours and a six. Kohli brought up his fifty in style by dispatching Roston Chase’s flighted delivery for a six over long-on.
The former India captain was looking set for a big innings, but just 2 balls later Chase bowled a stunning delivery to dismiss him. The ball spun from outside the off stump and made its way to the stumps through the gap between the bat and pad. Once again, the 33-year old failed to convert his innings into a big one.

Virat Kohli Reaches another milestone
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has now matched Rohit Sharma’s record of most fifty-plus T20I scores. Both the superstars of Indian cricket have 30 T20I fifties. Kohli reached the milestone in 89 innings, which is 24 innings quicker than Rohit. With 26 fifty-plus scores, Babar Azam is third on the list, ahead of Martin Guptill (22) and David Warner (22).
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had recently requested the media to not trouble Virat Kohli by scrutinizing his form. “If you guys (media) can keep quiet for a while, then everything will be taken care of. He’s (Kohli) in a great mental space from what I have seen. He’s been part of this team for over a decade & knows how to handle the pressure situation.”, Rohit had said in a virtual press-conference.
