Undoubtedly one of the great ambassadors of the game, AB de Villiers has dominated the cricketing world for over a decade. His exceptional shot selection skills have attracted a vast amount of followers to the game. Bowling a 360° batter like de Villiers is truly a nightmare for any sort of bowler.
The South African veteran always had a fearless on-field attitude and enormous ball-hitting abilities, during his time. The 38-year-old has dominated the game for years, including his stint with Royal challengers Bangalore (RCB), in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On the other hand, Shoaib Akhtar is certainly one of the bests, the world cricket may perhaps ever have seen. Famous for his furious attitude on the field, Akhtar troubled de Villiers, during his early days, in international cricket.
Shane Watson recently shared a video of Akhtar bowling the fastest delivery in the cricketing history. Watson, on his birthday, shared the video where the Pakistani pace gun clocked a marvelous speed of 161.3 km/hr. De Villiers commented on the post “Oh man! I still get nightmares.”

Akhtar, on Twitter, noticed de Villiers’ reply to the video and left a courteous reply to the proteas batter which read, “Come on AB, you’ve given sleepless nights to many bowlers yourself. Always a pleasure interacting with you.”
Haha. Good old days! U almost broke my leg at Supersport Park in my early twenties after I decided to pull u for 6. The minute it hit my bat I knew it was a big mistake😄

Akhtar takes a cheeky dig at AB de Villiers
Moving the conversation further, de Villiers recalled the episode when the Rawalpindi Express got so furious after the young de Villiers pulled him for a six.
“Haha. Good old days! U almost broke my leg at Supersport Park in my early twenties after I decided to pull u for 6. The minute it hit my bat I knew it was a big mistake,” de Villiers recalled.

After AB de Villiers reminded Akhtar about the six, the former Pakistan pacer with the video of dismissing de Villiers, tweeted, “Not every pull went for a 6 though. Hahaha.”
