Mumbai Indians have had a horrible ongoing season of Indian Premier League. 5-Times IPL champions lost the first 8 consecutive matches of IPL 2022. Nothing went right for Mumbai Indians on the field in IPL 2022. Ahead of their game against SRH, Ishan Kishan and Mayank Markande were involved in an interesting net session.
Mumbai Indians wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan was seen trying his hands at Leg Spin. While Mayank Markande who originally is a leg spinner was seen trying his hands at batting. Both of them exchanged their roles for this nets session. Currently Mumbai is placed at 10th position in the points table.
In the video posted by MI social media handle, Ishan Kishan bowled a loopy delivery outside the off stump to Mayank Markande. Mayank didn’t hesitate in smashing it down the ground. In the end, both were involved in a fun banter too. Mayank was heard saying that the ball went for a six, while Ishan refused to accept it.

Ishan Kishan was bought by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 mega auctions at a price of Rs 15.25 crores. He was the costliest player in the mega auctions. However Ishan has failed to live upto the expectations of Mumbai Indians. He has scored 327 runs in 12 matches in IPL 2022 at a poor strike rate of 117.
‘It’s just a matter of time’ : Mahela Jayawardene not much concerned about form of Rohit Sharma
Batting form of captain Rohit Sharma has also been a worry for Mumbai Indians. Rohit has failed to score even a single fifty plus score this season. Mumbai Indians captain has managed to score just 218 runs in 12 matches at a poor average of 18. However, MI Coach Mahela Jayawardene continued to back Rohit Sharma to be back in form.
Jayawardene said: “If you look at the way he starts, the way he hits the ball, it’s brilliant. He’s timing it, he’s getting some really, really good starts. Yes he’s disappointed as well, that he’s not being able to convert them. We’ve seen Rohit batting deep, batting for 14-15 overs and getting those big scores. It’s just a matter of time. He’s a quality player and I am not concerned about the form as such.”
