Ishan Kishan Direct Hit

Two most successful teams of IPL – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are facing each other in the el-clasico of IPL at Wankhede stadium. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first on a tricky pitch.

After being invited to bat first, CSK got a horrible start in powerplay. They lost two important wickets of Conway and Moeen Ali in the first over itself. Chennai couldn’t recover from it and soon they lost wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu too in the powerplay.

In the end Chennai Super Kings got all out on a score of 97 runs after Mukesh Choudhary got run out on a direct throw from wicket keeper Ishan Kishan. On the last ball of the 16th Over, Dhoni ducked the ball off Meredith and ran for a single in order to retain Strike with him for the next over.

However, Ishan Kishan was quick with his glove work and hit an accurate fast direct throw on stumps to send back Mukesh who couldn’t make it to the crease on time. Cricket fans appreciated this amazing presence of mind from Ishan Kishan. MS Dhoni scored 36* and was the only batsman from Chennai who looked like playing with responsibility.

The ball was swinging even in the 7th and 8th over- Meredith about Wankhede pitch

Daniel Sams and Riley Meredith were the best bowlers for Mumbai Indians. Daniel Sams picked up three crucial wickets of Ruturaj, Moeen and Conway. Meredith too continued the pressure and dismissed Rayudu and Dube. It was a collective effort from the bowling unit of Mumbai Indians.

Meredith in mid match interview said: “Everyone bowled well, unbelievable effort. The ball was swinging even in the 7th and 8th over, definitely not complaining. It was a loose to ball to Rayudu but then I swung the ball and found the inside edge. Not a lot of pace off as it was coming through nicely and it was troubling them with pace on.”
