Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer have left for the United Kingdom (UK) to join the Indian Test team for the last test match against England. Both the players were part of the recent T20I series between India and South Africa.
Shreyas Iyer posted a picture of him sitting with Rishabh Pant in the flight. Iyer captioned the picture, “Travel Partner to UK“. All other members of the Indian Test team reached London a few days back.
They also had a practice session in London. India would play a four-day warm up match against Leicestershire starting on 24th June.
India and England would face each other in the last test match of Test series which started last year. The Test match will start from 1st July in Birmingham. The Indian Test Team is currently leading the test series by 2-1. India would look to win the last test match and secure the first test series win in England since 2007.
The recently concluded T20I series between India and South Africa ended at 2-2 after the last T20I match was abandoned due to rain. Both Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer had a poor T20I series against South Africa. They couldn’t perform as per the expectations set by them.
“I focus on giving my 100 percent on field” – Rishabh Pant talks about his mindset during tough phase
Rishabh Pant managed to score just 58 runs in five innings in the T20I series against South Africa. Pant was heavily criticised for his shot making. Talking about this topic, Rishabh Pant in the post match presentation said:
“I can only think about giving my 100% as a player and captain. It is for you guys to decide on how I am doing as a player and captain.”
” I can only focus on giving my 100% every time I go on the field and keep improving. We will be keen to win the Test we are going to play in England and from a personal point of view I am keen to contribute more to the team with the bat,” said Rishabh Pant when asked about his batting form.
