Indian T20I team defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the first T20I at Dublin in Ireland. It was a one-sided victory for the Indian team. The Indian team successfully chased down the target of 109 runs set by the Ireland team. Yuzvendra Chahal was the biggest shining star of this win for India. He was the most economical bowler for the Indian team yesterday.

Yuzvendra Chahal gave away just 11 runs in his spell of 3 overs and picked up a wicket of Tucker. He bowled tight lines and lengths which didn’t allow Irish batsman to play their shots. All other Indian bowlers went for a lot of runs, but Chahal was spot on with his bowling.

Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed man of the match for his economical bowling in a high-run-scoring match. It was very cold weather in Dublin with the temperature being just 10 degrees Celsius. Presenter Alan Wilkins asked Chahal if he felt okay in the Irish cold. Chahal came up with a very funny reply to it.

Chahal replied, “No I’m not okay I’m wearing three sweaters right now“. Indian leg spinner further told how difficult it was to bowl in this weather. Chahal said, “Very difficult [to bowl in these cold conditions]. I felt like a finger spinner today. Sometimes it’s hard, but you have to adapt to every condition.”

Deepak Hooda shines in the run chase for India

Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field first. But the match didn’t start on time due to rain. Eventually, the match was reduced to 12 overs per side due to rain. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave a  brilliant start to the Indian team in the powerplay. He picked up the wicket of Ireland’s captain in the first over itself.

However, with the help of the brilliant innings of Harry Tector, Ireland posted a total of 108 runs in 12 overs. Ishan Kishan provided a quick start to the Indian team. Deepak Hooda played a brilliant knock of 47 runs which helped India successfully chase down the target. Captain Hardik too played an impactful knock of 24 runs.
