India defeated England by five wickets in the last ODI match at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday. With this win, India clinched the ODI series win by 2-1. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant played a crucial role in the decider match against England at Manchester. Rishabh hit a brilliant century in the 3rd ODI in the run chase.
Rishabh Pant played a knock of 125 runs in 113 balls. He also remained not out till the end and finished the game. It was a mature knock by Pant in tough conditions. He took more than 70 balls to score his fifty. But soon he gathered the momentum and put his foot on the accelerator.

Rishabh Pant hit five consecutive fours in an over off David Willey. When Willey came to bowl, India needed 24 runs in nine overs to win. Pant decided to make full use of the over. In the 42nd over, Pant smashed Willey for five consecutive fours all around the ground.
All the Indian fans in the stadium went crazy. However, he safely played the sixth ball of the over.

While chasing the target of 260 runs, the Indian team didn’t get a good start. Dhawan was dismissed on a score of one run. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could manage to score 17 runs each. Reece Topley completely shattered the top order of the Indian team.
The Indian team was struggling at 72 runs for the loss of four wickets. In such a critical situation, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya formed a 133 runs partnership to take India to a safe position.
Rishabh Pant in the post-match presentation said, “Hopefully I remember (this knock) for the rest of my life. I was focusing on one ball at a time when I was batting. When your team is under pressure and you bat like that .. something I aspire to do. I always enjoy playing in England, at the same time enjoy the atmosphere and the situation.”
