Probably one of the most notable celebrations in this World Cup would be Cottrell”s salute and Gulbadin Naib”s body show. If you consider the second one, the Afghanistan skipper has been troubling the opposition with his medium pace in this tournament.
He is also striving to give his best as an opener for the side, but it didn”t yield many successful results. Whatever one of the most spoken topics about him would be his physical fitness on the field. What makes him look so lively on the field?Â
A random video on Twitter is currently trending where Naib was seen passionately spending his invaluable time in bodybuilding. The 28-year old Afghanistan skipper was seen showing several pictures which he ended up winning in bodybuilding competitions. He was spotted performing some rigorous weight-training in the gym.
In the video, Naib said that he always wanted to build future with cricket. He invested a lot of time in bodybuilding and he used it as a way to look after the family. An emotional Naib said that it is necessary that he needs to earn money using bodybuilding as his mother was down with Hepatitis and his sister is disabled. As his father hadn”t had much money, the entire responsibility was on him to take his family forward.
Naib has now represented Afghanistan in 99 games across limited over formats scoring around 1300 runs with the bat and adding 66 scalps to his bag. With age still in his career, he will be looking forward to being one of the persons to take Afghanistan side forward. He was given the responsibility to lead the team a month ago. The side is yet to make an impact in the current World Cup but they have been so productive in the middle as they have been giving a tougher fight to opponents.
