The IPL 2020 frenzy has reached the pinnacle as the league is all set to begin on September 19 in the UAE. With IPL shifting to UAE this year all eyes will be on how the surfaces play differently than in India. Traditionally, the pitches there has assisted the spinners and scores of 150 in a T20 match has turned out to be match-winning.

Considering that Aakash Chopra, who is presently one of the prominent voices in cricket picked his 6 best spinners for this year’s IPL. The former India cricketer justified all the picks by giving solid reasons why they can be triumphant in the UAE during IPL 2020.

Chopra picked Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman, South African Imran Tahir, the experienced Ravichandran Ashwin, Sunil Narine the T20 specialist, Yuzvendra Chahal at No.2 and unsurprisingly rated Rashid Khan at the numero uno spot for the forthcoming IPL season.

Aakash Chopra picks best spinners goings into IPL 2020

The popular commentator said, “At No.6, I am picking Mujeeb Ur Rahman. He has two or three very good variations. He bowls with the new ball and also in the middle overs. At No.5, I am going with Imran Tahir for a variety of reasons, the first being he does very well in T20 cricket. And Dhoni will get the best out of him”.

“Ashwin has the experience, he has a normal off-spin and the carrom ball and bowls the googly also in between. But the thing I like most about him is his temperament, he doesn’t get flustered”.

Aakash Chopra picks Rashid Khan as the number 1 among 6 spinners to watch out for during IPL 2020.

He added, “At No.3, I am going with Sunil Narine. His action has changed a little and has not been that effective after the change. So if Dinesh Karthik uses him well, then this player will do very well and win matches for KKR”.

“There is a lot of fight between the two leg-spinners but I am going with Chahal at No.2. His biggest plus point is his brain. Skill-wise he is very good but he outfoxes the batsmen with his brain. The big grounds will also help him.”

“At No.1, I have got the Afghanistan lion, Rashid Khan. I have kept him at No.1 due to 2-3 reasons although we saw in the last IPL that batsmen had figured him out a little. But he is coming after playing the CPL. So he will get into this tournament and hit the ground running. He has also mentioned that he is developing a new delivery”, Aakash Chopra Concluded.

Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra also considered picking Kuldeep Yadav but ultimately decided against it due to his below-par performances in the IPL last year.

The 13th edition of the IPL for the second time will take place in the UAE due to the rising COVID-19 cases in India. All franchise have already reached UAE and completing their mandatory quarantine period after which they can start practising for IPL 2020.
