Former Indian batsmen Aakash Chopra has made his predictions for the upcoming game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai. KKR are placed seventh in the points table while Rajasthan last heading into this crucial game. Both teams have been in a losing streak as well and need to win this to turn their season around.

Prior to the KKR face-off, former Indian opener-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra opened up on RR’s chances and have asked the franchise to pull up their socks.

Sharing his views on his official YouTube channel, Chopra said, “The Rajasthan Royals have more problems because they don’t have the players. If they don’t have the players (with Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer ruled out), what can they do, they can only change the approach. The Rajasthan Royals’ fortunes will not change with personnel changes. Things can change if the batsmen become more consistent else I see this team struggling a lot.”

“They will ask Jos to please score the runs this time because things are not happening for them otherwise. Sanju Samson will have to score runs because you have an average of 70 and strike rate of 150 in the first three matches for the last three years but from the fourth match onwards the average dips to 22 and the strike rate becomes 130. This cannot continue to happen year after year,” observed Chopra.

Rajasthan will also look forward to making some changes in their playing XI. Manan Vohra in the first four games has hardly scored any rund with the bat. He might be replaced by Yaishasvi Jaiswal at the top whereas Buttler and Samson will certainly have to take more responsibilities with the bat.

In their previous match, RR lost to Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 10 wickets in defence of 178. KKR meanwhile, fell short by 20 runs chasing 222 to win against CSK.
