Over the years, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has been spot on with his predictions. With another exciting edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) approaching, the popular commentator is back with his predictions and picking teams who can go on to win the illustrious IPL 2021 title after gruelling actions over 50 days starting April 9.

The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cricketer recently hosted a quick question-answer session on microblogging site Twitter where he answered a plethora of questions about the upcoming edition of IPL. From MS Dhoni‘s batting position to the strongest team in the competition, Aakash Chopra answered all during that short session.

Mumbai Indians are the strongest side of IPL 2021 – Aakash Chopra

Speaking about the strongest team of the tournament, Aakash went with the defending champions Mumbai Indians. The only team to win five IPL titles led by Rohit Sharma, Mumbai have managed to retain their core group of players and will once again start as the favourites. Along with them, the management has added a couple of exciting talents including uncapped South African pacer Marco Jansen which make the side team to beat in the upcoming tournament.

Aakash Chopra feels Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will follow Mumbai Indians at No. 2 and 3 for the pick of the strongest side.

Virat Kohli likely to win the Orange Cap

Moving ahead, Aakash Chopra believes Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Rashid Khan can win the Purple Cap. The leg-spinner from Afghanistan is one of the rarest talents in the shortest format and has gone from strength to strength in the last couple of season. Talking about the Orange Cap, Chopra feels Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli will be the front-runner to walk home with the cap.

Kohli has been blowing hot and cold during India’s international season with the bat and will be desperate to hit the strides as Bangalore look to end their trophy drought in IPL.
