Known for churning out good cricketing content, Chopra placed former skipper Ajit Wadekar at six stating that India emerged as the powerhouse under his leadership for the first time. At number five, Aakash Chopra picked Rahul Dravid, under whom, India won against the likes of West Indies [2006] and England [2007] for the first time after 35 and 21 years respectively.

The former India cricketer picked the current India skipper Virat Kohli at fourth. Kohli has been leading the side incredibly well across the formats as the Men in Blues is one of the dominating powerhouses across the globe. He [Kohli] has a good team, he is steadily becoming a better captain. He may not have won an ICC trophy but under his leadership, but from the past three years the team has been at the numero-uno spot in the Test rankings. He will also play the final of Test championship and may possibly also win it. As far as ICC events are concerned, the team has always made its way to the semis or even the finals,” said Chopra.

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra went with Sourav Ganguly – who is known for changing the face of Indian cricket. From building the side to winning big matches Ganguly is known for his fearless leadership skills. The first Indian skipper to win a World Cup – Kapil Dev slotted in the second spot in Chopra’s list while MS Dhoni found the top spot for obvious reasons.

Dhoni is the only skipper in the history of the game to win three ICC events – World T20 in 2007, ICC World Cup in 2011, and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
