Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra has been busy doing the SWOT analysis of all eight teams ahead of IPL 2021. After predicting the Purple Cap winner and the most destructive pair in the upcoming season, he has spoken about Chennai Super Kings in his next video. MS Dhoni’s CSK has reached Mumbai and are down to their preparations ahead of IPL 2021. Chopra, in the meantime, has been analysing their chances of winning the title this season.
CSK are one of the most consistent teams in the history of IPL and have qualified for the playoffs in ten out of eleven seasons. They have so far won three titles and stand behind only arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (5) on the list of most titles won by the IPL franchises. However, Chopra is not sure about the team’s credentials this season.

“The Chennai Super Kings look like a mid-table team to me. I won’t be surprised at all if the Chennai Super Kings don’t qualify. This team needed the auction but they did not get that,” said Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel where he discussed CSK’s chances in the upcoming season.
Chennai Super Kings will play their first five matches in Mumbai this year followed by the next four in Delhi. Aakash Chopra explained the problems that the side can face playing at these venues. He further said that the team has no out and out pacer which also might be an issue.
“Their first five matches are in Mumbai and after that four in Delhi. They are going to get stuck if they are playing their first nine encounters in Mumbai and Delhi. You need to score very fast in Mumbai and you need extra fast bowling, that means fast and not swing bowling and they do not have that,” said Chopra.
Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood has pulled out of the upcoming IPL season citing bubble life reasons. This just adds to CSK’s problems who have yet not announced his replacement for the season. CSK will open their IPL 2021 campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 10 in Mumbai.

Aakash Chopra Picks His Ideal CSK XI For IPL 2021
In his analysis, Chopra has also tried to figure out the best possible playing XI for CSK with their given resources. He had made the video before Hazelwood pulled out of the IPL, which is why he included him in his line-up too. However, now that Josh is out of the IPL and Mark Wood too not available for CSK, they will have to plug the loopholes by slotting someone else.
Aakash Chopra’s CSK XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood (pulled out)
