The Royal Challengers Bangalore defeat Rajasthan Royals in a thriller at Dubai. The batting genius Ab de Villiers was at it yet again as he single-handedly took his side past the finishing line towards the end.

AB de Villiers scored 55 from mere 22 deliveries and sealed the win for RCB with a six on the second last ball. His knock included six gigantic sixes as he made a mockery of the boundaries at Dubai.

The RCB skipper Virat Kohli too carried on with his good form and contributed with a fine knock off 43 runs from 32 balls. In the end, RCB pulled off an incredible courtesy of AB de Villiers and secured 2 crucial points.

Earlier in the match, Steve Smith came roaring back into form and scored a scintillating half-century. On the back of Smith’s 57 runs, the Royals managed to put a competitive total of 177 runs on the board. Unfortunately in the last few overs, the bowling of RR lost the plot and RCB clinched a crucial match.

Here’s what the winning captain Virat Kohli had to say in the post-match presentation.

“The individuals are stepping up and we’ve been done that all through the tournament, which is why we have 12 points. Very happy right now because after this we get three days off. To be honest, you’re always tense in the chase because you’re not sure how many balls AB is going to get.

Credit to Gurkeerat as well, he stuck with AB, got that important boundary. It doesn’t matter who the bowler is, he does what he does. AB has always been someone who’s been ready to look at the situation and adapt his game accordingly”.

“In my eyes, he’s the most impactful player in the IPL. If he goes, the opposition knows they have a slim chance and there’s a good reason for that. It’s purely because of the presence of someone like him that teams feel we are never out of the team. [Opening?] No, our game pattern is very clear. Young Dev has batted beautifully, finch has played some impact innings.

“We understand the dynamics and we’re sticking to our plans. The bowling has really stepped up this season. Looks we’re gonna be put under pressure but the guys have come back strongly. Morris has been brilliant, just that energy he brings. Saini, Washy and Isuru as well, the bowling has come together well”, Kohli said after the win against Rajasthan Royals.
