The batting maestro AB de Villiers has over the years entertained everyone in the India Premier League (IPL). The legendary batsman is regarded as one of the greatest players to ever feature in the IPL. AB recently had a chat with popular commentator Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz. The much-anticipated interview had AB talking about his illustrious cricketing career.
The South African also picked his all-time IPL XI which consisted of several superstars. He picked two great Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virender Sehwag as his openers in the squad. Both Sehwag and Rohit have the reputation to destroy any bowling attack upfront which they continued doing in the biggest T20 league.

At the crucial number 3 spot, he picked his RCB teammate and skipper Virat Kohli. The genius that is Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the history of the competition. In 2016, Kohli was at his very best as he scored 973 runs 4 hundred and took his team single-handedly in the final.
It wasn’t a surprise that MR. 360 picked himself at 4 to compliment Kohli in the batting line up. AB has staggering numbers in the IPL with 4395 runs at a strike rate of 151.2 and also has an impressive average of 40. In next he went in with arguably the best all-rounder in the game today the Englishmen Ben Stokes.

The captain and wicketkeeper-batsman of AB’s all-star IPL team were MS Dhoni. The master finisher has countless times won matches for Chennai Super Kings from impossible positions. Dhoni has led CSK to titles win 3 times in the IPL and is without a doubt an all-time great captain.
The lone specialist spinner of the team was the champion spinner from Afghanistan Rashid Khan. The leg-spinner has tormented some of the best batsmen in the world in his fairly young IPL career. In the 48 matches so far in his IPL career playing for SRH, he has snaffled 89 wickets with an economy rate of just 6.14.
To conclude his all-star IPL team, AB picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and his countrymen Kagiso Rabada as the three fast bowlers. Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah have both been the leader of their pace attack in the IPL for several years. Whereas Rabada is one of the great bowlers in the world today that can trouble any batting lineup.
