As per Crizbuzz, Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate will be assistant coaches for the team during its upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, and India’s senior men’s cricket team is scheduled to depart for the country with them. Their first assignment will be coming up soon since Gautam Gambhir is the new head coach.

These two are additions to Rahul Dravid’s team that also consisted of T. Dilip who will continue to serve as the fielding coach and new head coach Gautam Gambhir.

In addition to his reputation as a successful fielding coach, Dilip is also well-liked in the locker room. He is reputed to be exceptionally skilled in team-building activities, which are seen to be crucial for athletes in a setting that is quite competitive.

T Dilip and Abhishek Nayar are set to go with the Indian squad:

 

The bowling coach’s issue has also not been resolved, although Morne Morkel who has worked with Gambhir at KKR, is expected to be appointed to the position. Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, apart from Gautam Gambhir were in the successful IPL 2024 KKR team. These three former teammates have not been seen around the team after Gambhir was appointed head coach; it has been rumored that they will soon join the coaching staff.

Additionally, Ryan ten Doeschate is now in the United States with the LA Knight Riders and will join the squad later. T Dilip and Abhishek Nayar are expected to go with the Indian team to Colombo on Monday, July 22.

Although the selections have not yet been formally announced, BCCI will probably do so before the Indian squad departs for Colombo for a white-ball trip that is set to begin on July 27.

That is on Monday at 1 PM Indian group is expected to board a charter flight from Mumbai to Colombo. The BCCI is expected to finally announce Gambhir as the new head coach before they leave. The press conference is to be held at a five-star hotel in Andheri, Mumbai on July 22 and the T20 newly appointed skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, will be there.
