Team India star Ishan Kishan shared a humorous comment on teammate Shubman Gill’s latest Instagram post as the squad gears up for the T20 World Cup 2026. With Gill, India’s Test and ODI captain, posting a shirtless picture, Kishan playfully remarked that his abs appeared smaller.
Gill, who was left out of the T20I squad ahead of the tournament starting February 7, had earlier praised Kishan for his standout performance in the fifth T20I against New Zealand in Thiruvananthapuram.
After Kishan scored a blazing century in that match, he shared photos from the game on Instagram, with Gill applauding his innings. Here’s what Kishan wrote on Gill’s recent post:

Ishan Kishan Expected To Open For India At T20 World Cup 2026
The Bihar-born cricketer is a strong contender to open the innings when Team India begin their T20 World Cup campaign on February 7 against the USA at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Before his 43-ball 103 in the fifth and final T20I against New Zealand, Ishan Kishan had scored 8, 76, and 28, solidifying his place in India’s playing XI.
Kishan earned a recall to the T20I squad after finishing as the leading run-scorer in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With Sanju Samson managing just 46 runs across the five-match series against New Zealand, Kishan could be promoted to open alongside Abhishek Sharma.
Following the fifth T20I, captain Suryakumar Yadav stated that the final decision on the second opener would be made before India’s first World Cup game. The Men in Blue enter the tournament as strong favorites to claim their third T20 World Cup title.
