“Absolutely False” – Prudhvi Raj Responds To Hanuma Vihari’s Accusations

Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association has found itself in controversy as veteran batter Hanuma Vihari levelled serious allegations against the association. He alleged that he was forced to resign as their captain after a player, who is a politician’s son wrongly complained. Prudhvi Raj, the cricketer in question, lashed out at the allegations.

Hanuma Vihari released a statement following Andra Pradesh’s exit from the knockouts of the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. Earlier in the tournament, he resigned as the captain of the Andhra Pradesh team after their first match. While it was strange to many, the association maintained that Vihari wanted to focus on his batting. However, the veteran batter revealed that he was forced to resign as a player complained about him.

Now, Prudhvi Raj has himself issued a statement saying that Hanuma Vihari is talking about him in the statement. He denied the allegations terming them “false”. He alleged that Vihari used derogatory language against him, and also added that the players know the truth. He wrote on his Instagram stories,

“Hello everyone I’m that guy, you guys are searching in the comment box, whatever you guys heard is absolutely false, no one is higher than the game and my self respect is much more bigger than anything, personal attacks and vulgar language is unacceptable in any kind of human platform. Everyone in the team knows what happened that day, Nuvu inthaku minchi emmi pikkulevu mr so called champion. Play this sympathy games however you want.”

“The whole team knows” – Hanuma Vihari

Hanuma Vihari further responded to Prudhvi Raj’s Instagram story with a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). He shared a letter where the Andhra Pradesh team players have requested the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association asking them to appoint Hanuma Vihari as the captain again. The letter which has been signed by the players, including skipper Ricky Bhui, stated that Vihari had not approached Prudhvi Raj aggressively.
